POPPY -  'In Flanders field the poppies blow.’ The start of a beautiful versed poem from World War I. Said to be written by a physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae after he went to bury a dear friend on a recent battle field. The visual is invoking. Let’s be a part of tradition. These heroes are in red, pink and white and are short lived (heart break) but will reseed with a purpose and grow as tall as 70cm. You have our word that we will donate all the profits to The Invictus Games Foundation inspired by HRH The Duke of Sussex.

SUNFLOWER - Do you really need a description for a sunflower??? As large and as bright as the sun (artistic license used) these grow to 1.5m tall and create a striking attraction in the dullest space. Perfect to grow with little ones and watch the flower heads follow the sun from East to West each day. Sunglasses recommended

LAVENDER -  *ehem* did anyone else know to deadhead lavender!? It's the perfect plan. Second year in I can look good bearing arms full of blooms when I visit, and 100% expect more for myself and the bees.

AMMI MAJUS -  If only Lorde had known – you can have royalty in your garden if not your blood. Queen Anne’s Lace is stunningly intricate with lace like (well duh) white cluster flowers which attract bees and compliments alike. A dainty and whimsical plant which lives for around a year at 100cm tall. Grow for a touch of yesteryear. Or to be cutting edge. Full circle.

COSMOS - These pearly white petals will bode you goodnight each dusk, as you sit back and congratulate yourself on your growing prowess. Plants will flower repeatedly within a year and usually self seed and scatter naturally around your garden. At 60cm tall they bow to the wind, but never life’s pressures while boasting a cheery yellow centre.

SALVIA FARINACEA -  “To the victor belongs the spoils”. Victor = you. Spoils = long flower spikes en masse and smug satisfaction. This salvia will bring bees and admirers to your garden with its rare blue tones and (the best part) they are surprisingly easy to care for! Each plant will live for around a year and reach 50cm tall.

ECHINACEA  PURPUREA MAGNUSWhen your friends are all getting into essential oils (one drop will do WHAT?) stay ahead of the pack by growing the source. Echinacea is common in many herbal remedies but who cares when it’s so drop dead gorgeous? Expect a plant around 100cm tall that lives for multiple years with spectacular purple flowers which look striking even as they fade. A personal favourite of persons with good taste.
